In Oromos, coffee is among highly valued crop which is used not only for the daily consumption but also for making peace and prayer. In Guji Oromos Gada system, there is a ceremony called “Bunnaqaa” which happens once every eight years at Bule Hora district, Gerba town at a specific place called Harruu Bunnaqaa.
Oromo people says

Bunaa fi Nagaa Hin Dhabinaa
Meaning : Don't miss Coffee and Peace from your Home

This is said to have been practiced for centuries in Oromo people’s Gada System. The word Bunnaqa is drived from two Oromo words “Buna” meaning Coffee and “Naqaa” meaning giving.
